Car Description:
Today I enter my 2022 6 speed premium brz that I purchased in October of 2023. I had a 2004 blobeye that was unfortunately totaled when I was hit on the way home from work. I honestly wanted to step away from the Subaru scene but I really thought about it and that was a dumb idea lol. Subaru has been so good to me since 2019 and for my family who also drive Subarus. I daily drive my brz and also track my brz. Switching from all wheel drive to rear wheel drive was really a challenging obstacle I had to jump over. I was timid to really push the car and see what Subaru has put into this rear wheel drive “sports” car. Out the box the brz is such a fun car without having to smash on the gas pedal. Left or right turns feel so planted and gives me confidence to believe in the car and let the amazing suspension do its thing. From my first track day to my most recent track days I have drove it to and from the track. Not a trail queen nor a pavement queen. (Only have gone off the track once due to the track being cold and tires being cold) it feels so heavenly driving home in a gutted brz from the track with the ice cold ac on full blast. As well as it feels so good to drive this car 25ish miles to work and back home everyday. After a long 12 hour shift something about that tomei catback exhaust paired along with that amazing 6 speed manual transmission slapped behind that 2.4 liter boxer motor just helps all the stress and tiredness leave my body. My first track day in my brz was at streets of willow. My very first session I ran a 1:38. My best time that session I ran a 1:37. I was feeling the transition to rear wheel drive more and more. Slowly I started trusting and believing in the car. Fast forward to my most recent track day, I ran a 1:30.2. So close to that sub 1.30. I have enjoyed this brz so much it’s honestly so addictive to push the limits of not only myself but of this 2022 brz. All these track days have been on a Michelin pilot sports 4s. Once I slap on sticky 200 tw tires I believe I will be doin 1.26-1.28 lap times consistently. The only mods I have on this 2022 brz is S3 track suspension coilovers, Hawk performance plus track rated brake pads with stainless steel brake lines paired along side Motul racing 660 brake fluid, an aggressive canyon chewerks alinement, a tomei catback exhaust and a recaro pole position bucket seat. I have a rare spec Ce28 17x9+35 for my track wheels on Michelin Ps4s. For street driving I have a rare color Regamasters 18x9.5+40 in satin black. I hope to attend subiefest again as like I did last year but this time in my new to me brz. Thank you.
